But happy she was not.

"You thought you saw her smile
But little did you know
That smile was but a mask
So that her feelings would not show.

You thought her to be happy
But happy she was not
Her smile was hiding many things
That she needed to forget.

Once she had both love and passion
Hidden deeply behind her smile
A love that she kept hidden
Behind her sparkling eyes.

So very strong became that love
Two kindred souls mingled into one
Jealous Fate soon killed their joy
Oh how she wished it had never begun.

Her smile was put to work again
Other things it would disguise
She curled her lips so carefully
But Truth gleamed in her eyes.

The Love that had kept her smiling
That warmed her very bones
Had flown from her very being
Never ever to return."
